PUTRAJAYA – In an effort to protect its enforcement officers and maintain the ministry’s commitment to openness and transparency while they are on the job, the Ministry of Health (MOH) has mandated that those officers wear body cameras.
The matter was made public by the Health Minister, Dr. Zaliha Mustafa, who launched the usage of the drug by the Public Health and Pharmacy enforcement authorities here in this very city yesterday.
It will also help ensure the safety and welfare of the enforcement officers,” she said in her speech during the ministry’s monthly assembly. “The use of body cameras will also help retain the integrity and improve the image of the ministry,” she said. “It will also help improve the image of the ministry.”
When officers are out doing enforcement rounds, they are frequently subjected to a variety of challenges, including the possibility of being threatened, abused, assaulted, or even bribed. The usage of body cameras is intended to help solve these challenges.
During the course of enforcement operations, the implementation will supply the cops with relevant proof or counter-evidence to defend themselves against a variety of claims.
The Ministry of the Interior (MOH) reports that a total of 110 body cameras have been purchased.
For phase one, the body cameras will be employed in Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Selangor, Melaka, Negri Sembilan and Pahang.
