Damascus-SANA—Minister Syria’s of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Fayssal Mikdad, expressed gratitude to Malaysia for its support during these trying times.

Minister Mikdad met with a Malaysian delegation led by Dato’ Norman Bin Muhamad, Deputy Secretary General of Bilateral Affairs of Malaysia, and expressed Syria’s gratitude for Malaysia’s support in these difficult times, adding that the Syrians are proud of their historical relations with Malaysia and their ongoing cooperation at various stages and on various levels.

Mikdad showed how the terrorist war in all its manifestations has weakened Syria’s ability to deal with natural calamities.

Norman expressed his country’s sympathy for the victims of the earthquake, which killed thousands and injured thousands.

He presented the earthquake relief aid delivered to Syria and the tasks to be performed by the expert team that arrived in Damascus, indicating that the Malaysian government will send more aid in the coming days.
