The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported early Thursday that Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman of Saudi Arabia and Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi spoke on the phone regarding the ongoing military escalation in Gaza and its environs.

SPA reported that MBS emphasised the Kingdom’s utmost commitment to engaging with regional and international stakeholders to curtail the current escalation.

The Saudi leader, as reported by SPA, reaffirmed the Kingdom’s position against any form of aggression against civilians and the loss of innocent lives. He emphasised the criticality of adhering to the tenets of international humanitarian law and conveyed profound apprehension regarding the harrowing humanitarian circumstances in the Gaza Strip and their repercussions on vulnerable populations.
