Malaysian King Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah emphasised the importance of his country’s friendship with Vietnam on August 17, as he received freshly accredited Vietnamese Ambassador Dinh Ngoc Linh in Kuala Lumpur.
Linh, in presenting his credentials, committed to make every effort to develop the two countries’ strategic alliance in the future.
Malaysia loves its warm alliance with Vietnam, according to King Abdullah, and he wishes to welcome Vietnamese President Vo Van Thuong to his nation in the near future.
He noted that recent high-level mutual visits have created numerous opportunities for expanding cooperation in trade, investment, security, education, and tourism, and that Malaysia believes both sides want to sustain and diversify bilateral relations towards more mutually beneficial and substantive ties.
On March 30, 1973, Vietnam and Malaysia established diplomatic ties, and on August 7, 2015, they issued a joint statement on strategic collaboration.
