Lisa of K-pop girl group Blackpink reportedly turned down a second contract renewal offer from label YG Entertainment.
According to Allkpop, the Thai rapper allegedly turned down a RM176 million offer from YG, putting the girl group’s future in jeopardy.
Fans have been concerned about the lack of information regarding the renewal of Blackpink’s contract, which will expire this year after they celebrate their seventh anniversary.
YG Entertainment denied in July that Lisa had cancelled her August schedule due to her ambiguous contract renewal status, stating that it was still ‘currently under discussion’.
Lisa is also said to be receiving lucrative international offers, particularly from her home country of Thailand.
Meanwhile, Blackpink is on the final leg of their Born Pink world tour, which they are contractually required to finish.
The tour’s final show will be held at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul on September 16 and 17, and many fans believe it will be their last as a group.
Because they are currently the country’s leading girl group, their decision to renew their contract with YG will have a significant impact on the South Korean music industry.
Blackpink debuted in 2016 with Rose, Jisoo, Lisa, and Jennie as members.
They rose to the top of the K-pop music industry quickly after releasing hits such as Boombayah, Ddu-Du Ddu-Du, Kill This Love, and How You Like That.
Members of Blackpink have had successful solo music careers and have broken numerous music and world records.
